Since we connected to newly created drive, we need to initialize and format it. In order to do it we need to go to Disk Management. We can start it by clicking on Start-->Right Click on Computer-->Manage. Then when we will turn it on we will notice a window with disk initiator. Just click OK on it to continue. Our disk is now online. The only thing that is left to do is to partition it. To do it please Right Click on that new disk and chose New Simple Volume. In Wizard that will appear please just follow all steps by accepting default values.

After wizard will finish his work, drive will be formatted. After formatting it will be ready to use.

Since now we can access it using My Computer. Please notice that this drive doesn’t differ from any other drive you have in your computer therefore Windows sees it as a local physical drive. That can bring you many benefits such as using RAID-1, installing any software you want or sharing this drive again.
