Impossible to discover ISCSI Target

Post by cosmomill » Thu Oct 28, 2010 1:39 am

Hello

I'm trying to set up a mirror with one local image file and one remote ISCSI Traget. This works perfectly as long as I use the iSorage Server as the other ISCSI Target. If I try to use ISCSI Targets form other vendors the iStorage Server is not able to discover the Targets. With the Microsoft iSCSI Initiator I can connect to these Tagets.
As remote ISCSI Target I tried iSCSI Cake(CCDisk), StarWind iSCSI Target and Linux Open-iSCSI Target.
I use the iStorage Server 2.08.

Thanks
Rene

Our product need to check the targets to ensure the mirror target you specified is compatible with our product, we need 64 bit LBA mandatory, discard the drive size.
I got the reason that when I issue a read capacity 16 command to that target, it was fail, so the target name won't appear.
We can do some work to improve the compatibility before the next release, thank you for your feedbacks.
