copy files into a read-only CD drive possible?

Post by noprop » Wed Sep 30, 2009 6:40 pm

Please provide a clarification. In the features section of TotalMounter you write: "Provides Virtual Write technology , so that you can copy files into a read-only drive and do not affect the peoples using other clients." Is this also true for CD images? How can I do that in Windows Vista? After mounting a CD image in my Windows Vista Home Premium Edition - either as ROM or as RW - I don't see any virtual drive as with other virtual CD drives and I cannot therefore see the files of this image or make a write attempt into that image.

Do you have any help or manual?

Thanks.

Virtual Write technology is not supported by CD, It is mainly used for network disk (INetDisk / iSCSI Disk), because more than one clients share only one media. It's advantage is that you may not allow some clients have write access to your server, but some application need to write it's temp data.
Why do you need "Virtual Write" on CD? You may write data file to your own CD image by creating a CD/DVD-RW device.
