Performance is slow

Post by peerless » Fri Mar 12, 2010 10:06 am

I'm testing this on Windows Server 2008 R2, 4k Jumbo Packets, dedicated iSCSI switch and Intel PRO 1000 NICs. I am seeing 40 MB/sec write and about 25 MB/sec read. On the same server running a competing software I'm getting over 65 MB/sec write and about 70 MB/sec read. Both tests were done with 10 GB image files. I'm stumped as to why the radical difference in performance. Is there a known speed issue with 2008 R2 that I missed?

Thank you for your feedbacks, yes, it is a known issue mentioned by the pervious topic:

It is lower performance in windows server 2008 than in windows server 2003 when coping a large file out of iSCSI disk.
We are now researching and trying to find a solution.
