No mention of performance numbers of any sort I can find. Would like to see some tests done using IOMETER. Have you test iStorage with a lot of disk and connected to a lot of virtual servers?
Done some small scale testing with Xenserver and it seems solid, but concerned about loading this up with 5TB of disk and putting 30 VM's on it. Do you have customers using this with 10Tb or more? Can the disk image file handle such a large single disk?
Max networking I could get on an 1Gb interface was 30%, can it be tweaked to go higher? Was using a single 2008 R2 server with multipath.
If I built a server to be a standalone SAN can anything be done to use all the resources of the machine (CPU, networking, memory).
Seems that the product is designed to be added on to a small companies existing server. Would be great if you could use it for a dedicated SAN otherwise not sure whats the point of HA.
Thanks!

Re: Any metrics showing performance?
Are you using x64 bit Windows server?
We used IO METER testing in Windows, we can get more than 95% utilization in 1GB interface.
For our customers, we have customers have more than 20TB single disk, it doesn't relate to the performance, for the performance, issue, you can simply use another Windows Server to run IO METER, then check if you can get more than 95% utilization, if you have difficulty or need further support, you may send issue to [email protected]

Re: Any metrics showing performance?
Thanks for the info. Will be stress testing testing in a xenserver 6.1 environment. My current Linux based SANs are using LSI 9260 512 meg with Cachecade SSD caching and 10G INtel NICS. Was hoping to replace them with istorage after a lot of testing. My test environment currently is a 3ware 512 meg controller with raid 5 and 4 sata drives and pair of 1G nics with multipath. In January will free up another server and try HA between the 2 boxes. Will setup a windows VM and try IOMeter test to see if I can push the interface.
Do you have a particular IOmeter config you were using so I can try and replicate your results? I will moving some peroduction service VM's over to the test server. With the new Xenserver 6.1 and Storage Xenmotion it is so easy to move things between ISCSI SR's and perfect for testing.
Thanks!

Re: Any metrics showing performance?
Please see attachment, we use the "Toms's" test case .
To test iSCSI driver, you can log on it and don't need to format it, if test 4 workers with streaming write, you should get more than 95% utilization in 1GB.
