Totalmounter 1.50 Kaspersky detects virus

Post by steam7 » Mon Oct 01, 2012 6:40 am

Hi,

Last week I installed Totalmounter 1.50 On a Win7 Home Edition with SP1.
It all went well, but when I tried to use the program my Kaspersky virusscanner came in action and detected a PDM.Worm.P2P. generic in the "IMAGEX.EXE" file.
The driver was disabled, but all seems to work fine.
Until I had to reboot my system and Windows refused to start due to some missing drivers.
I had to take windows back to an earlier recovery point to boot the system again.

I cannot find any info on the web, that other people have run into the same problem.
Is this a valid detection?
Details of the various versions is included in the attached images.[img][/download/Totalmounter1.50-Kaspersky.jpeg]

Please advise.

I have used your own website and 3rd party websites, like
http://www.techsupportalert.com/content ... y-use.html
http://www.softpedia.com/get/CD-DVD-Too ... nter.shtml

I have checked the executables on my laptop and much to my surprise I found one with a different size. 2164 KB against 2563 KB.
Tonight I have downloaded again from your site and it was 2563 KB.
Running the Kaspersky virus checker, no virus is found, but it reports different number of objects in the files. 45 or 57 or 58 for the 2563 KB files and 31 for the 2164 KB file. See enclosed screenshot.
I have not tried the 2164 Kb version yet and I was unable to trace back from which site I downloaded that version from.

Every KernSafe binary files contain valid Verisign signature, please check if the setup cabinet contains signature (right click on the file and check properties->Signature). If you download from thrid-party website, we can't ensure it is a valid copy of us.
