ISCSI Tape device unrecognised media

Post by box_l » Wed Nov 16, 2011 4:32 am

Hi,
I have the target software setup on WS2008r2 with a Hyper-V VM client WS2003x32.
I can connect to the tape drive quite happily, however Backup Exec 11 reports the tape as unrecognised media when i run an inventory.
If I try to run a backup I am prompted to erase the tape as it is unrecognised media.
This does not fix the issue.
I have edited the registry on the initiator server (WS2003x32) VM to include the port changes detailed in the technical document.
I get the same results with or without the registry changes.
I have tested an alternate product (no names, but vastly more expensive), and this produces a good backup with the same tape with no registry changes.

Can anyone help?
TIA
Dunstan Lawrence.
