Cluster Shared Volumes instructions

Post by Madbenny » Sat Jun 18, 2011 6:49 am

I've followed your instructions for "High Availability iSCSI SAN for Windows 2008 Clustering Hyper-V" instructions up to the point of Validate Cluster on Node server. What I'm looking for are further instructions for setting up a CSV (Cluster Shared Volume) using iStorage. Sorry, I'm new to clustering and iStorage and everything I read show I need to setup a CSV so migration will work when moving VM's in Hyper-V.

My Configuration is as the following:

2 nodes running 2008 r2 Enterprise with Hyper-V Role (Currently running live VM's) (Clustering is installed but not configured)
2 NAS units running 2008 r2 with iStorage Ultimate running on both. (I have clustered Quorum & Generic between the 2 per instructions)

Any Help would greatly be appreciated so I may finish this project.

Thank you in advance.

Hi Madbenny.

I think you are asking a really generic question.

Maybe you can start reading from here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/libr ... 10%29.aspx
... and with some google hunting you can find sure nice documents with how-to's to setup a MS Hyper-V cluster in a short time.

Last advice is that you not need CSV volumes to have MV Failover and live migration. CSV is a better feature to manage cluster volumes, but not absolutely necessary to have all the hyper-v features.

Good luck !
