Virtual DVD RW problem?

Post by matahari » Sun Nov 15, 2009 6:43 am

Dear Developer,
Acer Aspire One (netbook) not sale with CD/DVD revovery, driver, etc . But they give in the harddisck with soft manual, driver, & 60 days trial Ms Office 2007. It use original Win XP Home SP3.
The problem is, should I buy DVD External to backup the Windows & driver? I have a PC, want to create image & burn on my PC, so I not buying DVD external again. The soft Acer eRecovery Management force me to backup to external DVD.
I see your software can emulate DVD RW. So, I try. When I'm install & uninstall TotalMounter 1.3, it made Win blue screen & same problem when entering safe mode, it happened 2/3 times. When I can come back to Win, I try to uninstall. Very long time need, and seems no response, I try to end task the Installation driver in Task Manager, & it solved.
At last, I try using TotalMounter 1.33, no problem when Install & running the program. But, in my computer, there is still the same, the drive is still detected as CD Drive, not DVD-R / DVD-RW. When I try to made Disk Image, it working, can made 4,.. GB blank, but when I try mount, status bar TotalMounter says: "SCSI Controller 0", " Can not mount this image! c0000043". When I click the drive on My Computer, the dialogue box say: "Disk is not formatted, Windows cannot read from the disk. the disk might be corrupted or it coudl be using a format that is not comptible with Windows."
Any solution?
Thank you

c0000043: The file is used by other programs.
the DVD-RW, has a problem that the new created device cann't be recognised by system, you need to restart computer.
there is another topic says that: http://kernsafe.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=20

Great software! I use TotalMounter v1.33 also have the problem about DVD-RW. Create and MOUNT the 4.7G of the ISO, even if restart the computer, still identified as CD-RW, space is 700M. In addition, the software do not support cdburnerxp, can support ImgBurn. The following is ImgBurn display information:

KernSafe DVD-RAM MOUNTER 1.65 (SCSI)
Current Profile: CD-RW

Disc Information:
Status: Empty
Erasable: Yes
Free Sectors: 359,847
Free Space: 736,966,656 bytes
Free Time: 79:59:72 (MM:SS:FF)
Supported Write Speeds: 4x, 10x

ATIP Information:
Disc ID: 97m27s00f
Manufacturer: Digital Storage Technology Co.
Start Time of LeadIn: 97m27s00f
Last Possible Start Time of LeadOut: 79m59s74f

I do not know how to solve. Hope the better next version.

Laptop on Vista Family system without optical CDROM/CDRX drive.
Install OK on insisting to install KS SCSI driver twice.
Reboot system after install won't work.
system hangs on booting bar
& when breaking hanging boot, need to reinstall on a restore point.
(KS SCSI driver disappearing...)

too bad, this software is perfect for this kind of non optical drive laptop !!!
;) ;) ;)
