Network bridge on Windows 7 error

Post by cristighe » Sun Jun 13, 2010 6:16 pm

Hi there

I've installed the iStorage 2.0 trial version and configure it with one target in network bridge mode.
After I've started copying folders from a iscsi initiator - Server 2008 R2 using Robocopy I got an error after 1 hour and the copy failed.
More than that the iStorage service was frozen and I had to restart the computer and lost what ever was copied.
I found a strange thing after restart that in bridge mode the local workstation can see and access the bridged disk.
Is this a feature or a bug?

It is feature, but we will check the copy problem.
The primary usage of physical disk target is disk sharing at this time, e.g. when you have many data files for sharing to clients, you can upgrade data files from server side directly, or use server's boot disk for diskless boot. So we do not lock the disk when mounted to target, but we'd like to add this option in next version.
For storage solution (SAN for clustering, server virtualization etc.) we'd recommend you to use standard image file or VHD image file as target at this time.
