Limit disk read when synchronizing an HA pair

Post by webguyz » Tue Mar 25, 2014 5:13 pm

When doing a manual synchronization after a drive failure the working iStorage system devotes almost 100% of its resources to reading the working system disk and copying over making any VM traffic dog slow.

Any way to limit the reads to a percentage of the total queue? I just tried V4 beta and it has the same problem. We need to be able to specify a sync speed of low, medium,or high where high could be used when there is no other traffic on the iStorage servers and low specified when your working iStorage server is in production with live traffic and it has to maintain some functionality.

Thanks

Hi Andy,

Yes, while synchronizing, it will take almost 100% network utilization, so you have to limit the speed manually by setting up sync link (NIC configuration) at this time.
We will make improvement in the upcoming versions.
