Linux version come?

Post by Olga-SAN » Fri Mar 04, 2011 12:54 pm

Your server very cheap. If slow file and locks fix & help me we maybe buy it. And buy one two three time. But problem another. Windows server expansive. Linux version free of charge target but not support only everybody forum :( If we have kernsafe server not windows but of Linux we very happy indeed. Becose kernsafe server $300 and Windows Server 2008 R2 $1,000. Together very expansive and can buy hardware iSCSI target local vendor support very close. Linux free of charge + kernsafe linux $300 = buy very very many version. Very popular. Government organization here. Cybercafe I visit also cannot buy Windows of very expansive and police check license some time. Please linux kernsafe! :) And support!

p.s. Sorry for English know not very well :)

Its kinda sad that the official Kernsafe people have not responded to your post. But I can give you an answer. There are already quite a few linux iSCSI target solutions out there, many of them free. There is no business reason for Kernsafe to venture into that space. If you really wish to deploy a Linux server, take a look at open-e or openfiler. For a decent, supported, HA solution though, Kernsafe + windows is still cheaper. especially if you choose a cheaper windows OS (Kernsafe will run on windows XP after all)
