Post Failover Recovery

Post by tancaptim » Mon Dec 13, 2010 4:00 pm

If I have 2 iStorage Server nodes with volumes configured for failover, and one node fails. How is the mirror reestablished when the failed node comes back online? Are the virtual disks fully resynced or is some kind of differencing done to only update the portions that changed? I have a couple of fairly large disks and am trying to figure out if 10 gig links will be necessary in order to ensure relatively fast recovery once a failed node becomes available again.

Thanks,
Tim

Hi,

The mirror is just like a RAID-1, that need two iStorage Server woking together, if you need failover feature, you need to use failover application (Failover iSCSI SAN Node).
