The image file (Standard image file ".img" ) used by iStorage Server is a standard raw mapping from harddisk, but we do not know exactly the format of image file from starwind.
If you really want to use the original image file, I recommand you to use a Windows or linux to mount the image disk from stawind and RAW clone the disk to new created disk exported by iStorage Server.
Here are list of disk clone software:

We'll do our best to help you resolve the problem, please let us know if you have any future requires.

This seems to be the trouble...

The description for Event ID 2 from source RpcNs cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

"C:\Program Files\KernSafe\iStorage Server\iStorageService.exe"
2936

I get this on any system (for testing) that install the server on...

I am using 64 bit systems here so not sure if that is relative, but...

I can re-create this error by restarting the iStorageService.

RpcNs is the locator service so i set it to automatic and started it, then restarted iSS but I still get the error...

I can't believe that I missed something so obvoius as an event log error, doh!

I hope that this is it...

Please advise...

Hi MoWoM,

It is a known issue and it is just a "error message", it will not effect normal usage, and it happens on vista and above OS.
We are using rpc for this product so that the GUI (Management console) can communicate to the service and use Active Directroy for authorization, the rpc is used for communication only, not for core service.

Well I am sorry for posting before testing more but I have found that the problem is isolated to Xen...

I have connections from MS and ESXi systems that are working perfectly... So...

Making a new target image works fine but once connected, the SR has 0 Bytes of space upon creation. No disks can be added.

Forget the SR and test with MS or ESXi = no problem..

I have tried 5.5 and 5.6 and I get the same results...

I will have to bring up one system to copy off of Xen and then I will probably finalize with Hyper-V instead of Xen for my main Virtualization platorm...

Thank you for you help...

If I can provide you with an error log or anything, please let me know...

Thanks,

MoWoM
