Hi All,
I have partition, witch i need to share with other PC via iSCSI. But I also need to access data on this partition from the target host.
Is it possible?
I can set up this configuration quite easy, but some data get corrupted and both machines (target and client), accessing partition tries to check it for errors on every startup.
From reading help I got feeling that maybe machines can't handle disk access simultaneously thus the corruptions.

Re: Using same partition on target host and client?
balanemate,
Sharing same partition via iSCSI for read-write purposes between host and client is impossible without 3rd party software and it will result in data corruption. You can share that partition or disk using Virtual Write or Read Only access rights.
If you really need to access it with write/read access rights from two or more sources, please check those two topics, as they have more detail information:

and

To use it for concurrent file sharing, you need make it working under SAN FS, NAS, Cluster or Distributed File system.
Please visit our library to download a white paper for working with MetaSAN to share iSCSI volume.

Re: Using same partition on target host and client?
I get it now. iSCSI is not for me.
I have HyperV system and I need to access same data from host and guests. It's all on same machine, no SAN attached.
Shared folders are not an option, because it's very unreliable. Now it looks iSCSI is no good to..
OK, so what about iFlyDisk - is it based on same iSCSI technology? This question is kinda offtopic for this board, but anyway...

I have server with HyperV and I need to use same data on host and guest machines.
I've read link you posted and see, that iSCSI is not a technology to use. Network shares are not reliable.
Does iFlyDisk is built on iSCSI? From short info on main site, looks like a product that can help me?

The iFlyDisk is not based on iSCSI, but it will be same as iSCSI in your environment.
If you want to concurrent file sharing between Hyper-V servers, why not choose CSV?
